Join us for the IgnitionHacks x Double Degree Club Mini Hackathon, happening on April 4th at RCH, University of Waterloo - the perfect opportunity to get a taste of hacking, meet awesome people, and bring your ideas to life in a chill, welcoming environment.

Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned hacker, this mini-hackathon is designed for everyone. Come solo or with friends, form teams, and spend a few hours building something creative - anything from quirky side projects to impactful solutions.

Requirements

What to Submit

Submit your project before the deadline at 5:00 PM (EST) on April 4th. Your submission must include...

  • A project description that explains the original product, your reimagined solution, how it works, and its key features
  • An optional demo video (max 3 minutes) that shows your project in action and demonstrates its features
  • The source code, which is a link to your public repository (e.g., GitHub) with clear setup instructions

Please note that cross-submissions to other hackathons or competitions are not allowed. Submissions must be original work created during this event.

    What to consider: originality, innovation, and interesting use of technology
  • Technical Difficulty - 20 points
    What to consider: coding effort, difficulty, use of APIs, hardware, AI, or advanced logic
  • Functionality - 20 points
    What to consider: Does it run? Does it do what it should? Is it reliable?
  • Design/User Experience - 15 points
    What to consider: layout, ease of use, visual design, clarity
  • Impact - 15 points
    What to consider: Does it solve a real problem? Does it help people and/or have real-world value?
